Volunteer Management Internship

Description

Specific Tasks:

  1. Monitor productivity and satisfaction of active agency volunteers
  2. Represent the Iskashitaa at community events and assist in providing information about volunteering
  3. Assist in the recruitment, screening, and placement of volunteer applicants
  4. Develop and implement management strategies to efficiently track applicants through the onboarding process
  5. Track key data points which reveal program health and success
  6. Participate in the planning and implementation of relevant outreach events
  7. Complete other duties as assigned by staff

Time Required: 6-9 hours per week. Equivalent of 2 or 3 credit course hours.

Qualifications: 4 year degree or 2 year associate's degree or the equivalency in experience

Physical/Age Requirements: None/ Adult

Skills/Education:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong oral communication and writing skills
  • Interest and/or experience in food justice, sustainability and refugee resettlement
  • Pursuing a degree in Administration or demonstrating relevant Human Resources experience
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding client/donor information
  • Strong problem solving, writing, and communication skills; organized and attentive to detail
  • Strong intercultural communication skills; demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from other cultural backgrounds is a plus

Experience: Minimum of two year previous nonprofit or volunteer work or the equivalent

Training Required: On-site Iskashitaa training, Refugee 101 and internship application.
