Mentor/Tutoring Internship

Lauren's House 4 Positive Change is the place for you. Lauren's House works to bridge educational learning gaps in the areas of Reading, Writing and Math. We work to inspire youth and provide them with the tools to succeed in their education and beyond.

We currently have openings for interns to gain experience with a vibrant community-based non-profit organization in the area of education and youth development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide small-group instruction to students ages 7-18 who are struggling with reading, math and writing.
  • Coordinate the development and use of instructional and assessment materials.
  • Commit to 2-8 hours (or more) a week during the period of Feburary 2012 – June 2012 and June 2012-August 2012.

Education or Experience:

  • Current student enrolled in a four-year college or university or a recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree.
  • We welcome applicants from two-year community colleges with commensurate tutoring/education experience.
  • Previous experience in tutoring youths or in education is highly desired and preferred.
  • Communications experience and high-level software skills are highly desired.
