Community Resources for Science is currently looking for an organization intern to assist with volunteer, teacher services, development, or administration duties.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter interested in learning more about nonprofit organizations, volunteer outreach and coordination, and/or fundraising. We're looking for someone who can work approximately 10 hours a week, on a flexible (but more or less regular) schedule, sometimes on-site in our north Berkeley office and sometimes remotely.
We are a small Berkeley-based non-profit organization whose vision is to create a community of educators working together to excite all children about learning through the scientific exploration of the world around them.
The internship will be mainly project-based, allowing you to work independently part of the time and exercise some creative freedom. (We want you to work with us, not just for us!) Projects can be somewhat tailored to your experience and interests; here are some examples of the projects that go on in the summer and examples of what you may be working on:
Although this internship is unpaid, we're happy to work with you to get academic or other credit. You'll also have the chance to learn a whole lot about web production, build your portfolio, work with a small group of fun and friendly nonprofiteers, and make a big difference in the lives of the teachers, students, and volunteers that we serve. (Plus, there are sometimes treats!)
Start date is as soon as possible. No phone calls please, but you're welcome to e-mail any questions to us at community@crscience.org. To learn more about Community Resources for Science, visit http:www.crscience.org.
