Internship Description: Volunteer Donations Coordinator

Summary: World Relief - Chicago assists with the resettlement of refugees by providing cultural adjustment and employment services, English Language Training, legal services, and programs for children. Because refugees come with very few personal belongings to begin their new lives with, part of the refugee arrival process involves soliciting donations and setting up apartments to welcome new families to the United States. This internship will assist the Donations Coordinator with furniture pick-ups and apartment set ups.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to lift and move heavy furniture items.
  • Must be able to help move heavy items up and down several flights of stairs.
  • Should be available to work at least two days a week for eight hours, but also be willing to be flexible depending on scheduling needs.
