Internship description

Concrete Safaris empowers youth to be healthy leaders through green exercise programs that enrich the mind, body, community and environment. We are seeking a Curriculum Development Intern to assist the Outdoor Education Director (OED). This position is for any person interested in the field of experiential education. Our main focus for curriculum development is: Gardening/farming, biking, fitness, nutrition, and disease prevention. This curriculum is designed for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders.

Primary job:

Use creativity to design and develop materials that meet the goals of Concrete Safaris. Work with OED to format existing curriculum and create new / exiting lessons.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Review/ revise existing curriculum.
  • Collaborate new lessons / curriculum with OED.
  • Test out lessons / curriculum with our after school program.

Interns are required to:

  • Have strong writing skills.
  • Have a can-do attitude and not be afraid to speak up.
  • Attend weekly / monthly meetings.

Day/hours:

  • 2 - 4 days per week; 10 – 20 hours per week. Flexible schedule

Commitment:

  • 3 – 6 months.
