MNIA is seeking an experienced candidate, highly motivated and detail oriented to work with our Social Media and Communications Department. This position will include opportunities for expansion of responsibilities and learning in a dynamic environment. We are an international non-profit organization that implements a variety of projects, funded by public and private sources, focused mainly on Nigeria and the United States.
This is a hands on position as such, you will be an integral part of executing our organizational communications strategy to external audiences through various social media channels. We have a small staff that travels frequently, so the ability to work independently is very important. MNIA is a very friendly, well-rounded organization and there will be opportunities to participate in activities outside of your department. This is a unique learning experience for those interested in social media outreach and event support.
This is an unpaid internship with the exception of travel expense reimbursement.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain MNIA social media pages on Twitter and Facebook
- Maintain MNIA blog and generate monthly blog digest
- Create social media guide for events/campaigns
- Track MNIA online presence and build social media partnerships
- Manage YouTube Channel and work with Video Production Intern to publicize videos
Requirements:
- Minimum commitment of 10-15 hours per week, flexibility to work from home.
- Develop Self-Directed Learning Goals
Qualifications:
- Solid written and oral skills in English
- Some experience with social media platforms preferred
