Posted on: January 17, 2013
As an Event Production intern, you will work directly with CBHC's Chicagoland Organizer and other staff out of CBHC's office in the South Loop. Under the guidance of staff, interns will work on preparations for the Campaign's Annual Meeting.
Our work at this time is heavily focused on state implementation of the Patient Protections and Affordable Care Act (a.k.a., Obamacare). Our Summer Celebration brings together health care advocates from across Illinois and the nation, representing providers, labor groups, policy makers, and individuals from among our coalition. Previous speakers at our events have included Governor Quinn, nationally recognized health care bloggers Jonathan Cohn and Wendell Potter, US Representative Donna Edwards (MD-4), and representatives from the Illinois General Assembly and state agencies.
Interns will assist in production of our Summer Celebration. Duties may include:
DETAILS OF INTERNSHIP: • Supervision: Intern will be supervised by the Chicago CBHC staff • Compensation: While internships are not paid positions, academic credit has been arranged in the past and can be arranged. • Hours: Interns are expected to work a minimum of 12 hours per week. • Duration: Start ASAP, the event takes place in June (date TBD.)
