The Century Foundation (TCF), a progressive non-partisan public policy think tank, is seeking talented undergraduates, graduate students and recent graduates to be part of the Foundation's Summer Internship Program. The Internships are full-time paid positions based in New York City.
TCF focuses on issues of equity and opportunity in the United States, and how American values can best be sustained and advanced in a world of more diffuse power. Century's domestic work concentrates mainly on economic policy, education, and social insurance, while the foundation's current international activities primarily address challenges for the United States and international institutions in the Middle East, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
Century was founded in 1919 and initially funded by Edward Filene, who is best known for his store's Basement which was established to make goods affordable to working people. He was a close associate of President Franklin Roosevelt and one of the leading liberal businessmen in the country. Along the way he was a champion of fair workplaces and employee ownership strategies, with an eye to ensuring that economic opportunity was available to all.
The Summer Publications Intern will work specifically on The Century Foundation Web Archive Project as well as assist and participate in TCF's current e-publication efforts, through its webpage and e-book platform.
