Want to join in the fight for LGBT and HIV-positive families impacted by US immigration law? Interested in public interest law and advocacy? Love planning and executing events?
Immigration Equality is seeking a special events and development intern in New York City to work 20 hours per week for a commitment of at least three months (Monday-Friday 9:30-5:30 only, start/end dates negotiable). Because Immigration Equality's office is structured as an open, team-oriented, non-hierarchical space, development interns will also gain insight into many different facets of non-profit work, all while helping Immigration Equality raise more funds and execute more events to advance its mission.

Immigration Equality is the only national organization devoted to winning asylum for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and HIV-positive people fleeing persecution, and to fighting for equal treatment under U.S.immigration law for LGBT and HIV-positive families. Over the last year, the organization was covered in such media as the New York Times, People magazine, Newsweek, CNN, MSNBC, NPR and many more for its ongoing asylum wins and battle to gain equality for LGBT families.
