Development Intern (unpaid) Smithsonian Institution, Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery of Art - Washington, DC
The Freer Gallery of Art and the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery form the national museums of Asian art at the Smithsonian Institution, and are dedicated to the acquisition, care, study, and exhibition of works in their collections.
The Development Intern works closely with the Donor Strategy Manager in the Office of Membership and Development. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct research on current and prospective donors
- Maintain donor records in the Raiser's Edge database and assist with data entry
- Assist with organizing Development files
- Provide general administrative support to the Office of Membership and Development as needed
- Assist with event planning as needed
The ideal candidate must have:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Prioritization skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Sense of confidentiality in respect to donor records
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be a team player
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Working knowledge of Raiser's Edge (RE) and database experience preferred
- Graduate students interested in databases and information management encouraged to apply
The candidate would be available 3-4 days a week; length of internship to be determined upon hire.
