St. Francis House is the largest day shelter in New England. Located in the heart of downtown Boston, we serve over 800 poor and homeless men and women a day, 365 days a year. Our basic and rehabilitative services overlap and build on one another to provide our guests with continuous and comprehensive care.
We are currently seeking a highly-motivated, non-paid intern to help us improve and promote St. Francis House fundraising and cultivation events during the Spring Semester.
The Marketing/Event Intern will support our annual winter/spring events, including our Boston Marathon Race to the Finish Line, our tenth Annual Shooze Cruise and other cultivation and fundraising events. The Intern will work the event including set up, registration, raffle ticket sales, distributing programs and surveying participants.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Strong administrative and organizational and writing skills
- Enthusiasm and initiative
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-starter who works well independently and with a team
- Intermediate/Advance skills using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint (Raiser's Edge experience is a plus!)
- Comfortable interacting, via the phone and in person, with businesses and the public
- Currently enrolled in related educational program
- Minimum of 15 hours/week
