The heart of the Soulforce Delegate program is to enable people like you from across the country to organize and mobilize activists, leaders, and their communities to tackle multiple forms of oppression and diverse issues and policies. This year has a particular focus on the many forms of migration. Delegates act as collaborative forces in their own communities to foster leadership in LGBTQ movements. Each participant undergoes rigorous training on the principles of nonviolence as it relates to social justice issues and developing organizer best practices.
We are seeking 3 Ohio Delegates for the 2013 – 2014 Delegate session. In line with our global/local outlook, we are honing in on issues of identity, migration, and fundamentalism and working closely with the established Ohio stakeholders. The 3 Ohio Delegates should have some experience in organizing with a strong interest on the Intersectional Justice to work across communities and movements. The 3 Ohio Delegate positions will lead and receive hands-on experience through running a Pop-up Shop, leading trainings, and organizing symposia.
