Community Call Event Planning (CCEP) enrichment programs are taught to Boston area high schools students within their school and community based organizations to develop and cultivate an interest in making a difference in the community while developing widely applicable business skills and self-confidence. Classroom study is held onsite on at least a weekly basis either as part of an in-school curriculum, after-school program or as a Saturday program. Students participating in the program: develop event ideas for fundraising or to create awareness; develop an event plan including venue, contracting, budget, and marketing; and execute the plan for their school, or a community nonprofit or project within the greater Boston area.

Demand for our programs is growing at a rapid pace and this has created a tremendous push for our organization to grow accordingly. Our programs are built on the idea of creativity, teamwork, and self-empowerment and our work environment incorporates these same philosophies. We are looking for interns with a strong desire to grow their skill sets and help shape the organization for sustainability and growth. Interns may be in high school, college, graduate school or post-college. Work will be assigned based upon your interests and strengths. Areas of interest should include at least one of the following:

  • Marketing
  • Social Media
  • Fundraising
  • Event Planning
  • Grants
  • Communications
  • Public Relations
  • Strategic Planning
  • Accounting
  • Finance
  • Management
  • Teaching
  • Graphic Design

Interns should expect to be included in all aspect of the organization including interaction with students, partners, and the Board of Directors. The intern(s) must have a strong passion for the work that is accomplished within the organization as well as a desire to develop a working knowledge of the daily operations of the management and leadership. This is an essential position that supports high-level officers and their essential job tasks. Those with a passion for working with at risk youth, education, community networking and a gift for organization and adaptability would be well-suited to this position.

The intern position is unpaid and flexible in terms of hours worked and length of internship. We can work around your schedule during normal working hours including class time and paid work time.
