Public Prep Network is a nonprofit organization that develops single-sex elementary and middle public schools that pursue excellence through continuous learning and data-driven instruction. Our model is designed to empower each student to build strong character, demonstrate critical thinking, possess a core body of knowledge and be on a predictive path to earn a degree from a four-year university.
Public Prep Network seeks an outstanding Temporary Student Recruitment Assistant to start in February 2013 and work through May 2013 (4 months).
The Student Recruitment Assistant will be an important member of the Public Prep team, assisting the Director of Operations and Staff and Student Recruitment Associate in recruiting students for Girls Prep Lower East Side Elementary, Girls Prep Lower East Side Middle, and Girls Prep Bronx schools.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update database of applicants
- Answer inquiries about our schools on the phone and via email
- Help send mailings, canvas in communities and implement other recruitment strategies
- Coordinate with teams of canvassers in the Bronx and Lower East Side
- Prepare materials for school open houses, school lotteries, and other recruitment events
- Attend and assist Director of Operations and Staff and Student Recruitment Associate in off-site recruitment information sessions as necessary
Candidate Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Strong organizational skills and detail orientation
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, integrity and professionalism
- Expertise in Word, Excel, Outlook and internet
- Fluency in Spanish mandatory
- A commitment to education reform and the charter school movement
