Internship Description

Office Development Intern: CalSERVES, a program of Napa County Office of Education's Research & Professional Development Center, is looking for a dedicated and detailed-oriented intern to work in our Rohnert Park office.

Tasks may include:

  • Completing critical assignments for the HR department
  • § Data analysis for our Healthy Behaviors assessment program
  • § Management of complete volunteer and alumni database

CalSERVES runs several local and statewide programs that engage the community in services to support children and families in need. Specifically, CalSERVES provides programming and training in the areas of academically aligned after school programs, nutrition and physical education promoting healthy behaviors, and volunteer program development. Additionally, CalSERVES runs AmeriCorps programs (the domestic Peace Corps) in a variety of capacities to help meet the needs of California's children and families and provide the opportunity for individuals to serve the community.

Time Requirement

Approximately 2-10 hours per week, flexible with your schedule.

Minimum commitment of 2 months. Duration of internship can vary based on your needs. Positions are available for Spring semester, Summer, or Fall semester 2013.

Qualifications

All majors welcome! This position is designed for a Junior or Senior Undergraduate, or a first/second year Graduate student. College Freshmen, Sophomores, and non-students are also encouraged to apply.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have a passion for service
  • Are motivated and have the ability to work mostly independently
  • Have strong communication skills, including speaking, writing, editing, and research skills
  • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Compensation

This internship is designed to provide professional and leadership experience for an individual looking to work in the education field, nonprofit industry or other professional settings. We will provide ample training and coaching. Upon completion of the internship the intern may utilize the supervisor as a reference and request letters of recommendation for future job applications. This position may be taken for college credit. This position is unpaid.
