Internship description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

4-H programs in 10 states, National 4-H Council, and 4-H National Headquarters have launched a joint, 2 year effort to pilot scalable alumni engagement strategies that will mobilize alumni to come back and stand up for 4-H by giving, volunteering and advocating. The participating state 4-H programs are: CA, DE, FL, IA, KY, LA, MN, NE, NY and VT. Coordination and communication between 1862 and 1890 institutions in pilot states will be a goal of the program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as main communication channel between National 4-H Council staff, external contractors, and 4-H field members involved in 4-H Alumni Pilot
  • Coordinate and run webinars and conference calls for Alumni group.
  • Maintain project plans for both the larger group and sub-groups.
  • Prepare correspondences, collateral, presentations, reports, and other documents for the pilot program.
  • Actively participate in brainstorming and ideation sessions with pilot partner states.
  • Research trends in alumni initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous office experience necessary, preferably in a public relations, non-profit, or fund-raising position.
  • Interest in the 4-H system and supporting 4-H professionals and volunteers.
  • Knowledge of the 4-H system and/or 4-H alumnus (preferred).
  • High level of professionalism and intiative.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge, HTML experience, and/or web page management (preferred).
  • Ability to work in team environment and multi-task.
  • Great organizational skills.
