Internship description

The Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for developing and implementing SAJA marketing and public relations strategy and leading the work of the marketing team. Working closely with the executive team, Community Relationship Managers, and Outreach Coordinator, the Marketing & Communications Manager will oversee all publicity initiatives. This is a part-time volunteer position with a fairly steady workload year-round and a minimum commitment of 5-8 hours per week.

Duties:

  • Developing and implementing the marketing and public relations strategy.
  • Designing a branding strategy that builds recognition of SAJA both within the local food movement and in the larger community.
  • Building social media presences on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
  • Maintaining current information on the website and copy editing all content for print materials.
  • Managing media contacts and creating PR materials such as press releases and media kits.
  • Writing and preparing e-mail communication campaigns to members using MailChimp.
  • Determining collateral required for events and working with the Graphic Designer to prepare the proper pieces.
  • Providing guidance and support to the Marketing Team to ensure all projects stay on track.
