Programming Manager, Summer Intern

Level Test Prep, a Prime Produce Project

Start date: ASAP

Location: Midtown

Us:

Level Test Prep is a not-for-profit education company, founded in 2011. We provide free and low-cost alternatives to standardized test prep because we believe that a thousand-dollar class should not be a pre=requisite for admission to graduate school. We specialize in GMAT, GRE and SAT preparation and have an established partner in Prime Produce, who covers the LSAT. Our goal is to level the playing field, and we need your help to grow our programming and partner base.

You:

We are looking for someone who wants to help provide opportunity to those who cannot afford it. There are good students who need our help, and local partners who are willing to support us--we need you to help us find more of them.

You would take charge of the following:

- Partner with universities and community organizations to recruit highly-driven students

- Assess product strategy for the multi-session courses as well as tutoring sessions

- Organize the one weekend course with a nearby University

To do these things you're going to need these qualifications:

- You know how to research a market and enjoy thinking about how to reach people

- You care about creating educational opportunity and think education equality is a good goal

- You are a self-starter and handle ambiguity well

- You have at least a year worth of experience that you believe to be relevant

- You can communicate effectively and are generally personable

- Interest and experience in higher-education, non-profits or test preparation are all a plus

- It's not important if you have taken or scored well on any standardized test (we're not an admissions committee)

The position is unpaid (sorry, flattening barriers has its price) and requires 20 hours per week from our partner's midtown office. It would be possible for someone work as much as 40 hours/week through the summer since there's a lot to do, but your working schedule can be flexible. We are looking for someone to commit to joining us at least through the summer.
