Looking for an opportunity to better understand today's business climate in relations to marketing?

Experience the dynamic functions a Chamber of Commerce

has to offer as it meets the needs of its business community.

The Vernon Chamber of Commerce, located adjacent to downtown L.A., serves more than 1,400 businesses and works to promote a thriving, industrial community for the City of Vernon. The candidate for this part- time, internship position will assist Chamber staff with numerous activities in a busy office setting.

Responsibilities

The qualified Intern will support the Executive Director and staff with numerous projects that include:

  • writing opportunities with monthly newsletter & various other communications
  • working on marketing and publicity efforts for the Chamber
  • assist with media tracking and placement of op-ed articles
  • implement Chamber committee activities
  • general administrative duties that support Chamber marketing programs

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or Master Student – Perfect for Communications, Political Science, Journalism, Public Relations Majors
  • Competent writing and grammar skills
  • Microsoft proficiency a must – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi-task, is organizationally adept and finishes projects in a timely fashion
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently
