International Coastal Cleanup Intern

Ocean Conservancy is currently accepting applications for summer and fall internships for the International Coastal Cleanup based in Washington, DC. The Cleanup is the world's largest volunteer effort of its kind and engages hundreds of thousands of volunteers to collect trash along streams, rivers, lakes and ocean shores during which, they record what they find. Intern responsibilities include:

  • Helping manage incoming data and databases
  • Outreach to volunteers and volunteer coordinators
  • Handling incoming e-mail
  • Event planning
  • Keeping tabs on current marine debris research

This internship provides an opportunity to work with a dynamic team of professionals on solutions to one of the greatest pollution problems of our time. Applicants should be currently enrolled undergraduate, graduate or recently graduated students. All internships are unpaid, with the opportunity for travel stipends and academic credit.
