Romania Program Intern, Volunteer Coordinator Valea Screzii, Romania

United Planet, a non-profit organization based in Boston, USA & Pro Vita, a non-profit organization based in Valea Screzii, Romania are seeking an intern to join our international team, who will be based in Romania. United Planet sends volunteers from around the world to assist Pro Vita with their many community programs in Romania. The internship will run a minimum of May-September, 2012. The intern will coordinate volunteer logistics in Romania and will act as a support to address volunteer concerns. The intern will wear many hats, and should be flexible and energetic. We are seeking a compassionate, globally minded, hard-working individual with strong communication and leadership skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Communicate with the Boston Office Team
- Welcome new volunteers in Romania as a representative of the UP Team
- Support volunteers in Romania
- Communicate and report to the Pro Vita site manager
- Communicate with all members of staff within Pro Vita
- Plan and lead group activities
- Solve problems on the ground
Qualifications:
- Friendly and energetic
- Compassion for novice travelers
- Ability to solve problems resourcefully
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Superb leadership and communication skills
- Experience in cross-cultural communication
- Experience living or travelling extensively abroad
- Fluent English language skills
- Previous volunteering or community service experience preferred
- Experience living abroad preferred
