Brief Description
Gain "hands-on" experience and learn about organic food production and sustainable landscape management while working alongside Seattle Tilth staff and volunteers in the garden, during classes, and pursuing independent projects.
Compensation
This is an unpaid internship, but can be applied towards school credit at some schools.
Work Site
Garden Stewards focus on one of our gardens as arranged, with the opportunity to participate in the other gardens. The gardens locations:
Time Commitment
Interns devote 12-24 hours per week for six, nine or twelve months. The number of hours vary depending on the season..

Training & Evaluation
Attend meetings with your supervisor and attend one organization-wide volunteer orientation to receive your initial training. We encourage regular communication to ensure a rewarding experience for you and the organization.
Important Dates and Deadlines for the Pickering Barn, Bradner Gardens park, Rainier Beach and Seattle Youth Garden Works:
12 month internships:
March 5, 2013-March 1, 2014
There are no twelve month opportunities with Seattle Youth Garden Works
9 month internships:
March 4- November 29, 2013 (application due Feb. 10)
6 month internships:
March 4 – August 30, 2013 (application due Feb. 10)
June 3 – November 29, 2013 (application due May 1)

9 month internships:
June 3, 2013- February 1, 2014 (application due March 16)
6 month internships:
February 25 - September 13, 2013 (application due Jan. 28)
June 3 – November 30, 2012 (application due May 1)
