Leave UR Mark has an opportunity for a 3 month Orphanage Volunteer Project with housing and food included in Southern India.
Volunteers will be living in a traditional Indian village to help educate, empower, and learn from around 100 orphans and disadvantaged children. The orphanage brings together children from all parts of South India that have been abandoned, neglected, abused, and financially underprivileged in a cheery and colourful school center. At this orphanage, it does not matter what your past is. Volunteers help to be a source of positivity, creativity, and love for all kids.
Projects to get involved in:
- Painting, drawing, sketching, and colourful educational art projects
- Dancing and singing
- Football, exercise, and yoga classes
- Teaching English
- Teaching very basic math and geography
- Help putting on skits and plays
- Celebrating Indian holidays
- Teaching the children about different cultures
Volunteers will be sure to experience:
- Lots of hugs, smiles, and friendships
- Gratitude and appreciation for everything you do for them
- Being a part of helping eradicate illiteracy and poverty in India
- The rich Indian culture and hospitality
Logistics:
- You must be 18 and over
- You must speak English
- 3 month commitment
- You have weekends off to travel and explore the Indian countryside and cities
- We provide you total Pre-Departure support (help in visa, health, guidance on insurance, budgeting, and safety), pick you up at the airport, orientation and training, housing + food (3 meals per day) and 24/7 emergency support for $250 per month.
- School is closed from mid-April to mid-May...please work around that
- This is not for the novice traveler. It is for those that are able to work in a rural setting in India.
