Schedule: Part: Part-Time
Summary of Internship:
We are looking for an inspired individual who would like to join the curatorial team of The Jewish Museum and develop their knowledge of exhibition realization in a professional, supportive environment. The intern will assist the Curator and Curatorial Assistant with research, correspondence, and general administration in connection with a forthcoming exhibition exploring Helena Rubinstein as a business entrepreneur and a collector of modern art and African sculpture.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern would be requested to research specific topics, share their research, organize pictorial material, and perform general administration tasks such as (but not limited to) maintaining checklists, contact lists, general paperwork, and presentation materials. The intern may be asked to research at off-site, public facilities in New York City, such as the New York Public Library, the Watson Library, etc. Other tasks will be assigned as the need arises.
Other Duties and Responsibilities (if applicable):
Typing, photocopying, digitization, filing, sorting mail, etc.
Internship Qualifications:
B.A. and M.A. candidates in Art History, as well as M.A. Candidates in Arts Administration preferred. The candidate should have a strong interest in modern art, African art, and/or American beauty culture. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and excellent organizational, research, and communication skills are a must.
