The Ella Baker Center for Human Rights is seeking volunteer interns for Winter/Spring 2013, starting in January 2013. We are looking for someone with a passion for social justice and a commitment to media and communications to work with us for a period of at least 10 weeks, making a commitment of at least 15 or more hours a week. This is great opportunity to learn about how online organizing can support the work of a non-profit organization.

Under the direction of the Online Organizing Director, the Online Organizing Intern will:
- Perform research to inform actions, resource development, and campaigns
- Foster communication with allies and partners on efforts to organize online
- Help launch and promote online actions through Social Media promotion and other efforts
- Create content for and help promote our blog, Ella's Voice
- And, delegated duties, tasks and projects as needed and assigned by the Director of Programs, Online Communications Director, or the Content Manager.
What we're looking for:
- Literacy in a range of social media platforms, especially Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and blogs
- Strong writing and research skills
- Computer fluency; skills and experience with Drupal is a plus
- Excellent time management skills
- A great sense of humor, commitment to fun and a passion for social justice and the mission of the Ella Baker Center
