The Organization

Panthera, founded in 2006, is the world's leading organization devoted exclusively to the conservation of wild cats and their ecosystems. Utilizing the expertise of the world's premier cat biologists, Panthera develops and implements global conservation strategies for the most imperiled large cats – tigers, lions, jaguars, cheetahs and snow leopards. Representing the most comprehensive effort of its kind, Panthera works in partnership with local and international NGOs, scientific institutions, local communities and governments around the world.

Panthera's Development Internship

Panthera seeks a Development Intern in our New York City headquarter office. This is a fantastic opportunity for undergraduate or masters students to gain experience within an international conservation non-profit organization. Panthera's Development Intern will assist with general administrative tasks to donor stewardship and research. The position will allow participants to get an inside look at coordination within Panthera's international conservation programs. The intern will report to the Development Associate and help meet the needs of a growing fundraising program.

Essential duties include:

  • Assist with online research of fundraising prospects
  • Assist with maintaining development database
  • Assist in organization of volunteers to help with donor stewardship
  • Provide day to day administrative support - including filing, scanning, mailing assembly

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university. Applicants must be able to provide an Internship for Credit Eligibility Letter to be considered.
  • All majors welcome to apply.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication, skills, as well as critical thinking and an energetic attitude.
  • Experience with databases a plus.
  • Must be computer savvy and comfortable using a PC.
  • Interest in wildlife conservation.

Compensation

  • This is an unpaid internship, course credit is required. Panthera offers subsidized travel.
