Internship description

Please Touch Museum® seeks a qualified college undergraduate or graduate student interested in fundraising and museum/non-profit work to assist the Development Department. Responsibilities include assisting with fundraising events, departmental mailings, filing, data entry, and other duties as assigned. Applicants should have strong attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills, familiarity with databases, and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Respect for confidentiality of information is a must. Internship is part-time, non-paid, however, college credit can be granted. Schedule is flexible, some weekend and/or evening work will be necessary. Internship will begin June 2013 until August 2013.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with special events including Stroller in the Park
    • Tracking ticket sales
    • Supporting event logistics, including overseeing vendors in the Health Pavilion
    • Generating promotional language for the event
  • Assist with department mailings
  • Prospect research for PTM's Corporate Giving Program
  • Data entry and database coding in Raiser's Edge
  • Filing

Minimum skills needed:

  • Basic computer and clerical skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Highly organized
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a timely manner
