Internship description

Summerbridge is seeking motivated, intelligent, and enthusiastic undergraduate students to serve as office managers at our summer academic enrichment program. Office Managers work as assistants to the Program Directors in a high energy, fast-paced environment.

Summerbridge Pittsburgh aims to prepare students from low-income families who possess high academic potential, but limited educational resources, for academically rigorous college-preparatory high schools and matriculation to a four-year competitive college. We also inspire the next generation of educators by encouraging talented high school and college students to pursue careers in education or youth-service.

Schedule:

Start date is flexible (between end of May and June 3rd). June 3rd - August 5th: Monday-Friday (7:00 am to 5:00 pm)

Stipend:

$1,500-$2,000

Program Responsibilities:

  • Plan and facilitate weekly special events
  • Assist Program Directors in running and recording faculty meetings
  • Help copy and organize documents to be handed to teachers and staff: curriculum information, general paperwork, as well as outgoing documents such as student assessments/evaluations
  • Record student attendance
  • Accurate record keeping of summer food service documents
  • Communicate with families, students, and teachers via telephone and email
  • Filing of student records and upkeep of student information database
  • Oversee high school student intern
  • Other responsibilities as determined by the Program Directors, who oversee the summer program

  • Excellent multitasking abilities
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively with a diverse group of people
  • Excellent attention to detail
