Who we are: Dopper US, a green start-up that's passionate about reducing plastic waste, promoting tap water wherever possible and spreading clean drinking water. We designed the world's most beautiful reusable water bottle that signals we want to put water back where it belongs: on a pedestal. The bottle is a Dutch design and made in Holland, with a net zero carbon footprint. Of course it's BPA free.
Each bottle supports water projects in Nepal by hiring local contractors to build showers, toilets and clean drinking water stations for their local communities, as well as provide education about clean drinking water.
Who we are looking for: We're looking for an intern that's hand-on, enthusiastic, passionate about sustainability, a natural networker, social, like to sink his or her teeth into something, can wear different hats in one function and loves working in an environment that's not (yet) extremely organized. History: Dopper was founded in The Netherlands at the end of 2010, when a group of freelancers saw a documentary called 'Plastic Soup'. Because 80% of this garbage patch drifiting in the ocean consists of single-use plastic waste and mostly bottles, one of them suggested to design a bottle so appeling that no one would even consider ever buying bottled water again. Because there was no designer in the group, they organized a competition and asked technical engineers and designers to come up with this 'perfect bottle for drinking water'. The competition received so much PR that by the time the winning design was chosen and manufactured, already 50.000 bottles were ordered. This made the Dutch founder Merijn decide to turn it into an actual company. Dopper in Holland sold over 600.000 bottles in the last two years. Merijn and I (Irene) met in Qatar at a TED conference early 2012 and decided to expand the company to the United States. 'Dopper US' was officially founded in Feb 2013.
We are looking for a great intern that wants to work with me during the start-up phase in the US. The job will entail all sorts of things; social media activation, following-up on retail opportunities, fly with me across country to promote our mission & bottle at giftfares, do research on how to best conquer the US market, run small erands sometimes and have a good time together.
