SPRING 2012 ARTS LEADERSHIP INTERNSHIP
Since 1916, The Drama League of New York has been at the forefront of the American Theatre. With award-winning artist education and audience development programs, The Drama League has two vital goals: to train and nurture the artists of tomorrow, and to deepen and strengthen the audience experience.
Internships at the Drama League provide students, recent graduates, and early career arts professionals with a fast-paced, immersive experience inside the inner workings of one of the nation's oldest not-for-profit arts organizations. Interns are fully integrated members of our staff, with administrative responsibilities and opportunities for growth and learning.
Interns also benefit from weekly mentoring sessions with the Executive Director, to help assess and realize their professional goals. Areas of focus include event management and planning, arts administration, fundraising and development, and member services in addition to self-guided projects and attendance of NYC theatre productions and events.
Spring 2012 Arts Interns will primarily assist with the planning and execution of the 78th annual Drama League Awards. Interns also take on additional projects such as the coordination of the Theatre Excellence in America program, a nationwide network of theatres; grant research and proposal preparation; social media updates; general administrative support; and contributions to our monthly newsletter.
