There are approximately 1 million people in the United States living with, or in remission from, blood cancer, which is the most common cancer diagnosis in children. The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
• Write press releases and media alerts
• Assist with developing email marketing templates
• Develop marketing collateral, such as flyers and post cards
• Update Illinois Chapter web site
• Post Chapter events on community calendars
• Maintain and update local media lists
• Support Marketing & Communications staff with ongoing administrative tasks
• Assist with data entry and reporting
• Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
• Professional demeanor
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Working knowledge of MS Office and database management
• Strong interpersonal skills and judgment
• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
Full-time and part-time internships are available between the hours of 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Some after-hours and weekend work for event support may also be required. This internship is unpaid – potential for class credit is available pending school approval.
