Be an ACLU-MD Intern and help defend our rights to think and speak as we choose and live without discrimination and unwarranted government intrusion. Here are just a few of our hot button issues:

Election Protection * Defending freedom of speech and freedom of religion * Fighting discrimination of all sorts * Guarding your privacy * Stopping police misconduct * Guaranteeing lesbian and gay rights * Assisting prisoners * Supporting rights for persons with disabilities * Protecting free access to government records

The ACLU of Maryland is looking for interns to work in our Baltimore office and to assist our Fair Housing Project. The ACLU's Fair Housing staff works to provide housing choice throughout the region to low income residents of Baltimore's poorest neighborhoods.

An ACLU Fair Housing Intern would be expected to:

  • Commit no less than 5 hours per week to the program;
  • Have experience conducting interviews;
  • Have an interest in legal matters, specifically housing issues;
  • Have a car and the ability to travel in order to conduct client interviews;
  • Have a relatively flexible schedule;
  • Have immediate availability.
