Battery Dance Company is seeking a cameraman/film apprentice for their 32nd Annual Downtown Dance Festival, New York City's longest running dance festival. As the cameraman you will be working alongside Tim Casson of The Dance WE Made, recording footage in various locations in the Battery Park area, and editing the material to be presented at the closing performance night at Dance New Amsterdam, NYC.
Filmmakers will be required:
- To have an interest in dance.
- To ideally have their own DSLR camera and edit equipment*
- To attend 4-5 x 2 hour location shoots across the city.
- To edit and create 4-5 x 3 minute viral videos.
- To document the creation and performance of a final performance on August 16th.
Compensation will be $50 to cover travel expenses and time, plus access to all Downtown Dance Festival performances and activities, including the opening and closing events. This is a great opportunity to work closely with Battery Dance Company and Tim Casson; you will be a part of The Dance WE Made Project from the start of the work through its final product for the Downtown Dance Festival.
Required dates are: August 7th – 17th, 2013, with a couple preliminary meetings to discuss the details of the project.
