Girls' LEAP (Lifetime Empowerment and Awareness Program), founded in 1997, is an after school program that partners with community based agencies and schools to offer our self-defense and empowerment programs, at no-cost, for girls and young women aged 8-18. The mission of Girls' LEAP is to empower girls and young women to value and champion their own safety and well-being. We offer unique self-defense and empowerment programs, based on a curriculum that stresses physical safety skills and reflective activities that address the development of conflict resolution, violence de-escalation, self-esteem and courage; programs are taught by intergeneration, all-female teaching teams.
