Basic Health International works in developing countries to end cervical cancer. We are health care experts and cervical cancer innovators who are passionate about elevating the lives of women.
We are seeking a Social Media Intern to amplify our message, anchor our online presence, and build our community of support.
Ideally this internship position will be based in Pittsburgh, PA. There is the possibility of telecommuting for the right candidate. The position is for approximately 10 hours per week and offers a stipend.
The intern will:
-Work with the Program Manager to develop a strategic plan for social media content, including mapping out themes and topics for an overarching compelling and cohesive message.
-Be responsible for day-to-day social media management.
-Monitor relevant news sources for current and timely dialogue.
-Respond to and create newsworthy content.
-Collaborate with the graphic designer to develop visuals.
-Be highly accountable.
-Stay up-to-date in social media messaging strategy and techniques.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a fascination with engaging an audience.
- Have a knack for storytelling through micro-channels.
- Be passionate about women's issues and health equity.
- See the "big picture" and be adept at the art of "framing".
- Be self-motivated and comfortable working virtually.
- Think creatively and stretch the limits of what is considered relevant content.
- Be committed to the use of top-notch grammar and punctuation.
Qualifications:
-Proven track-record of successfully and artfully managing a social media profile.
