Internship description

AES World Languages and Cultures Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting language and cultural awareness. To further this end, AES Institute organizes immersive language classes and cultural events for the general community. These engaging programs allow individuals to open new worlds of cultural understanding.

We are currently seeking a self-motivated, organized individual to assist with the management of all of AES World Institute's various programs. This role would allow you to experience all of the processes that go into managing and directing the organization, its programs and its approximately 15 volunteers. You would report directly to the Executive Director. This is a volunteer position and time commitment can vary. A minimum commitment of 12 weeks is required.

Responsibilities include assisting with:

  • The management of current programs and services
  • The development of new services
  • The management of volunteers
  • The implementation of growth strategies
  • Organizing department meetings and Director meetings
  • Managing online presence
  • The coordination of multiple fundraising campaigns
  • Improving internal communication practices
  • Increasing communication with supporters

Ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher; Google Docs; Acrobat X pro, Joomla CMS
  • Highly motivated and proactive
