Responsibilities:
As the University Student Organization Intern, you will identify and contact student organizations, inform them on the wild horse and burro issue, and ask them to join us in helping to get the word out on this issue to the broader campus community.
You will be seeking to have them create an opportunity for our wildlife ecologist and author to speak on campus and / or to see if you can mobilize them to help educate their campus on this issue in other ways (e.g. by having their organization work on this issue or communicate information on this issue to their members). Most communications will take place by phone and email. Some communications may take place via social media.
Additional activities will include working with our other team members to develop and enhance our public relations and providing input to our team on implementing a social media campaign.
Requirements:
Desire to work with college students, enthusiasm, creativity and resourcefulness, an outgoing personality, a passion for wild horses and burros and for this issue, and a willingness to reach out to others.
In addition to reaching out to college communities, the University Student Organization Coordinator will also interact with others on the public relations / advocacy team to help implement a social media campaign.

Location:
We will interact primarily by phone, email and via Skype, so there is no need to travel or to relocate for this position.
Length of Internship:
Possibility of extending the internship for another semester if interested.
