Pathways to Housing PA, as originators of the Housing First model, seeks to transform individual lives by ending homelessness and supporting recovery for those with psychiatric disabilities. We believe that housing is a basic human right, and aspire to change the practice of homeless services by; providing immediate access to permanent independent apartments, without preconditions and setting the standard for services driven by consumer choice that support recovery and community integration.
We are in search of an intern who will promote Pathways to Housing PA and its programs to the general public and specific target audiences; draft newsletters, brochures, and press releases, prepare and/or edit web copy, post program information on websites and on social media, and provide general marketing support as requested. All internships are unpaid but can be used for college credit.
This is a great opportunity for English Majors, Marketing/Business Majors or those studying Non-Profit Management.
The Intern will develop or utilize skills in:
- Identifying target audiences
- Identifying means of reaching target audiences
- Assessing applicability of various social media
- Copywriting
- Working with vendors and collaborating organizations
Qualifications: We are flexible and can shape an internship around the interests and abilities of an interested applicant. The following qualifications would be helpful:
- Coursework or experience in marketing or public relations
- Ability to organize and plan
- Understanding of social media
- Good writing skills
- Outgoing, friendly, oriented to service
- Patience, creativity, flexibility, compassion, and sensitivity to persons with disabilities and other minority populations
- Sensitive to cultural, economic, gender, and sexual orientation differences
