Global Poverty Project is rapidly expanding and we're looking for people like you — passionate, diligent and creative — to join our team. As a Global Poverty Project intern you will be working closely with staff members and learning new skills related to social media, production, communications, and events. For this role, we are looking for two individuals for two to three days per week, although we welcome those who wish to work 4 or 5 days per week to apply as well..
Responsibilities:
As the Global Communications Intern you'll be an integral member of the Communications team that runs GlobalCitizen.org, organized last year's Global Citizen Festival in New York City's Central Park and is currently preparing new campaigns for 2013. This is 3 month position.
● Assisting the editor of Global Citizen on the updating, design and management of online platform/website GlobalCitizen.org by sourcing good written content and images for the site.
● Assist the Global Communications Officer with implementing social media and supporter engagement on Global Citizen and Global Poverty Project corporate channels.
● Assist the Global Communications Officer with collating online media statistics (Crowdbooster, Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, etc).
● Other research, communications and administrative duties as requested.

Skills and Qualifications:
● Excellent writing and proofreading skills.
●Experience with Photoshop, Indesign or other image editing software (professional or personal).
● Experience using HTML, CSS, or other website design preferred (professional or personal)
● Interest in and knowledge of current affairs.
● Desire to work for an online publication in a dynamic environment.
● Interest in international development and economic empowerment.
● A keen eye for aesthetics, design, branding and layout of materials.
