Position Description

The Case Management Administrative Intern assists the Director of Case Management and Social Work Services to research information about local community organizations, and enters information into a database to be used by staff. The intern also researches about subsidized housing options, and supports case management staff in their housing search efforts with program participants. In addition, the intern assists case management staff to enter data in the Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) database.

Intern duties will include:

  • Coordinate with Director of Case Management and Social Work Services and other case management staff to identify organizations to be included in the community resources database.
  • Research service providers and other organizations on the internet.
  • Contact organizations by phone to obtain current contact information.
  • Enter information about community resources into a database.
  • Using the phone and the internet, update information about available housing subsidies.
  • Utilize the HousingWorks website to identify housing opportunities for specific participants.
  • Enter assessment data gathered by Case Managers in the ETO system.
  • Other duties as necessary to support the work of the Director of Case Management and Social Work Services and case management staff. This may include archiving files, filing, developing flyers or other materials, etc.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Flexibility
  • Computer skills: ability to locate information on the internet, typing skills, data entry; familiarity with Excel preferred
  • Strong phone communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a professional office environment

Shifts Available: 12-16 hours weekly, times are flexible.

Internship level: Undergraduate/Graduate students encouraged to apply.

Pay level: Volunteer/non-paid
