The National Hispanic Medical Association hosts an annual conference and several receptions, (2) Congressional Briefings, throughout the year, a Resident Leadership Program, a Fellowship leadership Program Its foundation, the National Hispanic Health Foundation, also hosts two scholarship dinners throughout the year (NY and CA). Interns are expected to assist with registration, program planning, event and venue logistics, designing communication pieces, updating databases, following up with speakers and sponsors, and managing the organization's checklist for events. Please note that the written event management description generally applies to spring and winter interns because the events are held in October and December (scholarship dinners) and March (for Annual Conference) Annual Conference is held every year during March or April. NHMA's biggest program is its Annual Conference as it involves an almost year round planning. Interns are also expected to assist in tasks that the NHMA's foundation, the National Hispanic Health Foundation (NHHF) may require.
