The Development & Marketing Intern is responsible for assisting the development officer with maintaining the organization's donor database, tracking and evaluating fundraising efforts, researching donor prospects and grant opportunities and developing new ways to market PPAC's programs.
The goal of this position is to provide an opportunity to learn about nonprofit development and fundraising in the Philadelphia arts community. Successful development support will help PPAC raise the necessary funding to fulfill its mission of fostering the study, practice and appreciation of photography in the Philadelphia region.
The Intern's responsibilities may include the following tasks:
• Various projects maintaining the organization's donor database;
• Assisting the development officer to track and evaluate fundraising campaigns;
• Researching individual donor prospects;
• Researching grant funding opportunities;
• Soliciting sponsorships for Philly Photo Day;
• Developing new ways to market PPAC's programs
The Intern should exhibit the following qualities/skills:
• Considerable attention to detail
• Self-motivation
• Excellent online research skills
• Proofreading ability
• Creativity
• An interest in photography and the arts
This position is unpaid.
Interns may use PPAC's digital lab for free and may also enroll in some classes and workshops for free.
