Internship description

This unpaid internship position is open to a graduate student in public health, public policy, aging policy or related field. It will begin in August/September until the end of December 2013. Candidate must have the desire to use research and advocacy to advance social change/progressive public policy. Good interpersonal, organizational and writing skills are required. Basic understanding about the Federal Affordable Care Act and/or State Medicaid Redesign is preferred.

Job Description

The intern will work closely with the Assistant Director of Policy, Advocacy and Research and Senior Policy Analyst for Elderly Welfare and Youth Services and will:

  • Provide staff with support in research on topics related to managed care organizations, Health Homes and social adult day services.
  • Assist staff to develop policy briefs and fact sheets on the impact of Federal Affordable Care Act and State Medicaid Redesign on certain programs in New York City.
  • Assist in the preparation of FPWA task force meetings and events.
  • Provide any other support as needed by the Policy, Advocacy and Research Department.

Hours are flexible.
