The Senior Project Manager will serve a supportive role to the Managing Director to help her maximize impact and make strategic use of time. The position involves delegation of senior-level tasks from the Managing Director, with particular emphasis on writing, planning, research, and coordinating special projects.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Assist the Managing Director with various high level tasks and deliverables, coordinate special projects initiated by the Executive Office, project management, represent the Executive Office at meetings, and provide back-up support as needed.
- Draft speeches, briefing materials and a weekly summary of organizational accomplishments.
- Support various staff and board committees, including the preparation of meeting materials, minutes, and follow-up on meeting outcomes.
- Assist with planning, research and writing assignments as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Five to seven years of experience in a non-profit environment.
- Familiarity with the world of organizing and advocacy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work accurately under deadlines and the pressure of a fast-paced work environment.
- Superb writing and editing skills.
- Computer literacy required, including MS Office Suite skills.
- Knowledge of professional non-profit standards and practices.
- Excellent communications skills, diplomacy and discretion.
- Team player with the capacity to be resourceful and flexible
