Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative (DSNI) is a 30+ year old, resident-led, non-profit planning and organizing group in the Roxbury/North Dorchester area of Boston. DSNI's mission is to empower Dudley residents to organize, plan for, create, and control a vibrant, diverse and high quality neighborhood in collaboration with community partners. In order to realize the neighborhood's vision of a vibrant urban village, DSNI has organized to make significant strides in the areas of land control, affordable housing, community facilities, urban agriculture, education, youth development, and community building. DSNI is seeking an Office Manager to organize and coordinate administration duties and office procedures, and ensure high levels of organizational effectiveness.

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Organize office operations and procedures
  • Manage relationships with organizational vendors, including cleaning company, recycling, telephone, and IT support
  • Order office supplies and coordinate maintenance for shared office spaces and equipment including printers and fax
  • Coordinate schedule for reception desk coverage
  • Generate and collect purchase orders and invoices in support of Finance Department
  • Coordinate and deliver incoming mail
  • Support DSNI meetings and events as requested including scheduling, preparing rooms etc.
  • Prepare for Board Meetings including documents, space and reminder calls to Board members
  • Order business cards for employees
  • Work with other staff to coordinate onboarding of any new staff to ensure that space is ready for occupancy and technology is in place
  • Perform ad hoc administrative projects and tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of copier, fax, phone and computer operations
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of general administrative experience
  • Previous experience as front office manager or office administrator a plus

Neighborhood residents and bilingual applicants (Spanish, Cape Verdean Creole) are strongly encouraged to apply. This is a full-time position with salary commensurate with experience. DSNI offers a comprehensive benefits package.
