Baltimore Corps, a leading organization with programs that exist to promote the success of individuals and communities in Baltimore, seeks an experienced professional with senior-level management and supervisory experience to serve in its first and newly created Vice President's role. This position offers the opportunity to build upon the organization's accomplishments by coordinating and aligning growth across departments and leveraging the skills and talents of the leadership team. The ideal Vice President must be passionate about Baltimore Corps' vision and desired impact for Baltimore. S/he must be a skilled manager and communicator, be highly strategic, and fully embrace shared leadership values. The Vice President will report to the CEO and manage a team of 4 talented Directors.
Founded in 2013, Baltimore Corps' mission is to enlist talent in advancing Baltimore's most promising models of social impact, and to mobilize a movement dedicated to achieving equity in our communities.
Baltimore Corps believes that the Baltimore community will be more successful if the city's social impact sector – the public, private and social organizations explicitly working to advance equity and social impact in Baltimore – is more effective, and the leaders and individuals driving those advances are retained in the city. Baltimore Corps envisions a more effective, rational and equitable social impact sector capable of solving the city's most difficult problems, and mobilizing a movement dedicated to the long-term proposition that our cities must be epicenters of racial equity and social justice.

- Talent: Baltimore Corps recruits and deploys professional level talent to build the capacity of, and advance the most impactful models of social change. Baltimore Corps is invested in the careers of next generation change makers and dedicates major resources to develop and retain them in Baltimore.
- Leadership: Baltimore Corps supports, connects and elevates next generation and visionary cause leaders to breakdown silos, advance important models of social innovation, and build the will necessary for long-term institutional change. Through a common agenda, coordinated strategies and mission-aligned human capital, Baltimore Corps works to activate sector-level impact.
- Tools: Through tools and support, Baltimore Corps reduces barriers to change and strengthens the capacity of individual leaders and organizations to achieve results and advance equity.
- Incentives: Baltimore Corps leverages incentives to accelerate the adoption of impactful strategies and practices. From financial resources to prestige and press to access, Baltimore Corps incents leaders and organizations to default to its platform and best practices.

Organizational Budget (FY17): $1.6 million dollars; 15 full-time staff, 5 part-time staff
The Vice President is the second in command of Baltimore Corps' senior leadership team and will be working collaboratively with the President and CEO and 4 Directors. Key responsibilities include:
- Works closely with the President to advance Baltimore Corp's vision and goals.
- Translates President's vision to staff and provides management updates to the board, when necessary
- Provides internal leadership to director level staff and accountable for hiring, directing, evaluating and terminating staff
- Measures performance of director level staff while encouraging accountability, professional development, and promoting a high level of expectation
- Oversees the development and execution of the organization's strategic initiatives while assisting in the substantial growth of the organization
- Develops, encourages, and coaches director level staff to improve planning and tactical implementation of strategic initiatives and department objectives
- Promotes a collaborative, supportive, and cohesive environment between director level staff to achieve organizational goals and quality programming

- Comfortable with high levels of ambiguity inherent in fast-growing organizations.
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills including the ability to interact and communicate with a wide array of personalities and work styles.
- Entrepreneurial and innovative spirit.
- Strong track record of building strong relationships among staff and incorporation of team building into leadership style.
