The role of the National Manager Signature Events is to work in conjunction with local chapters for which NPF has established a branded signature walk event to raise funds and awareness to further the organization's mission. The Manager of Signature Events will execute this event in coordination with NPF senior leaders as well as local chapter leaders. This position reports to the National Director Signature events.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with NPF Chapter Staff and volunteer leaders to implement NPF signature walk events.
  • Ensure chapters establish and implement best practices, organize event logistics, recruit participants and volunteers and generate local awareness of events
  • Provide training and support to NPF Chapters in corporate walk development, corporate sponsorship and corporate and friends and family team development
  • Work with the NPF Chapters to develop and manage event budgets and provide post-event analysis
  • Work with NPF senior management to secure national corporate partners for signature events and help chapters secure local corporate and media sponsors
  • Implement a national marketing campaign to promote the walk event and drive participation
  • Work with Finance Department, Communications Director, Web Editor, Chapter Services Technology Manager and outside vendors to implement and improve online fundraising platform to support chapter walk events
  • Create content for walk web pages and other walk communications tools

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in nonprofit management, communications, marketing or related field.
  • Minimum (5) years experience with a national nonprofit walk program, including successful career track with a national voluntary health organization with chapters.
    • Excellent English verbal and written communications skills
    • Strong customer service and presentation skills required.
    • Strong technical skills, including experience with the Microsoft Software Suite and web-based media, required.
    • Familiarity with donor/customer database and online fundraising tools, preferably Convio and Raiser's Edge or similar customer relationship database, is strongly desired.
    • Overnight travel to NPF Chapters, Trainings and conferences (estimated at 40%).
