St. HOPE Leadership Academy Charter School is a college-preparatory charter middle school located in Harlem, New York City. The school, which opened in the fall of 2008, provides a rigorous, standards-based curriculum, intensive interventions for students who are performing below grade level, a defined character development program, and extensive leadership development and community service opportunities in a structured learning environment. The mission of St. HOPE Leadership Academy Charter School is to graduate self-motivated, industrious and critically thinking leaders who are prepared to attend a four-year college, committed to serving others and passionate about lifelong learning. St. HOPE Leadership Academy Charter School (SHLA) is seeking a Math teacher. Our priority is on differentiated, small group instruction; as such, all Math classrooms will have 2 co-teachers that work together in a supportive, collaborative environment, with one taking the lead on teaching content, one taking the lead on teaching problem solving, and both sharing the responsibility of one-on-one and small group conferencing.
Candidates must have appropriate teaching certification (or eligibility for certification) in New York State, special education certification is a plus.
Salary is extremely competitive and commensurate with experience, 15% above DOE pay scale, with full benefits offered.
