CHD is seeking a dynamic, experienced fundraising professional to serve as Development Manager. The Development Manager is responsible for various fundraising related tasks and cultivation events for CHD and many of its programs. As directed by the Director of Development, Marketing and Communications, this position supports the planning and oversees the execution of grant applications and fundraising appeals. Supervises print jobs and mailings with printers and mail-house vendors. Supervises development staff and assists in the creation of an annual development plan. This position is also focused on collaborating with CHD programs to provide support and success strategies for program fundraising and will be involved in cultivating and stewarding relationships with existing donors/volunteers and prospective contributors. Specific focus will be directed towards programs that are reliant on fundraising, including Cancer House of Hope and Disability Resources.
The ideal candidate will have extensive relevant background in development, marketing, communications and public relations as well as a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Demonstrated experience with gift database management software, preferably Blackbaud's eTapestry or similar gift tracking software required. The position will require participation at several evening and weekend events throughout the year, including CHD's Annual Meeting, conferences, fundraising and community events etc. A valid driver's license, physical stamina and agility are necessary to be successful in this position. Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. A minimum of six years development experience, including a proven track record of increasing annual appeals, grant acquisition and planning fundraising events is required. Supervisory experience preferred. Excellent writing skills, the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines required. Experience in human services and in mid to large size organizations is desirable.
