Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters Job Announcement:

Development Assistant, 20 hours/week

Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization whose mission is to elect pro-conservation candidates in Wisconsin, educate the public about how their elected officials vote on conservation issues, and hold our elected officials accountable. WLCV and its sister organization, WLCV Institute, have a combined annual budget of approximately $800,000, and a staff of eight. We are currently seeking an organized and highly motivated individual to join our team as a part-time Development Assistant.

Duties

The Development Assistant will provide administrative and fundraising support to the Development Director and Executive Director. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Tracking direct mail and email campaigns and producing reports for each
  • Updating, cleaning and maintaining donor records in online database
  • Researching and preparing reports on major donor, corporate and foundation prospects
  • Maintaining corporate and major donor data
  • Tracking board fundraising efforts
  • Pulling newsletter, member renewal and other lists and preparing mailings
  • Entering weekly contributions and preparing contribution reports
  • Making direct asks for membership contributions, primarily via phone
  • Generating and distributing weekly acknowledgement letters
  • Preparing materials and pulling data for events and other event assistance
  • Other duties, as needed

Requirements

  • Familiarity with and strong competency for database work
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Word and Excel
  • An interest in conservation issues
  • Good communication and time management skills; a self-starter
  • Attention to detail
  • Sense of humor
  • Comfortable making direct asks for contributions
  • Strong organizational skills

Position is 20 hours/week. Hourly wage is $16/hr. The Development Assistant will report to the Development Director and work out of WLCV's downtown Madison office.
